Abstract

The high presence of mosquito larvae in Setiamulya Subdistrict, as indicated by the lowest Larvae-Free Index (ABJ) in the working area of Tamansari Public Health Center, served as the background for this study. The aim of this research was to evaluate the relationship between the physical condition of the home environment, container characteristics, and Mosquito Breeding Site Eradication (PSN) practices with the presence of Aedes sp. larvae. This study employed a cross-sectional design with a total sample of 355 households. Bivariate analysis revealed significant associations between several factors and the presence of Aedes sp. larvae, including air humidity (p= 0.028; OR = 8.138), water volume in containers (p = 0.000; OR = 2.820), container placement (p = 0.002; OR = 0.265), container material (p = 0.000; OR = 3.771), and the frequency of container cleaning (p = 0.000; OR = 14.293). Meanwhile, other variables such as lighting, air temperature, water temperature, water pH, and container color showed no significant relationship with larvae presence. As a preventive measure, it is recommended that residents open windows from morning until midday and clean water containers at least once a week.
