Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas Sport Education Model (SEM) dalam meningkatkan Positive Youth Development (PYD) mahasiswa Pendidikan Olahraga Universitas Jambi. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain quasi-experimental yang melibatkan dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok eksperimen (n=34) dan kelompok kontrol (n=36). Kelompok eksperimen memperoleh pembelajaran berbasis SEM selama satu semester, sedangkan kelompok kontrol mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan kuesioner PYD yang mengukur enam dimensi, yaitu competence, confidence, connection, character, caring, dan contribution. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan SPSS 27 melalui statistik deskriptif dan inferensial, meliputi uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, paired sample t-test, dan independent sample t-test pada taraf signifikansi 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan skor PYD pada kelompok eksperimen (p < 0,05) dengan rata-rata peningkatan yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok kontrol. Uji independent sample t-test juga menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan antara kedua kelompok (p < 0,05), yang mengindikasikan bahwa SEM lebih efektif dibandingkan pembelajaran konvensional. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa SEM tidak hanya meningkatkan keterampilan olahraga, tetapi juga mendukung perkembangan karakter dan sosial mahasiswa secara holistik. Dengan demikian, SEM direkomendasikan sebagai pendekatan pedagogis inovatif dalam pembelajaran pendidikan olahraga di perguruan tinggi
