Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami kaitan antara koordinasi tangan dan mata, kekuatan otot lengan, serta daya ledak otot lengan dengan kemampuan melakukan smash pada anggota UKM Bulutangkis Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia kampus Sumedang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan model korelasional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari atlet UKM bulutangkis yang sedang aktif berlatih, dengan sampel berjumlah 20 orang yang diambil dengan teknik pengambilan total sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi pengujian koordinasi mata dan tangan, pengujian kekuatan otot lengan, pengujian pelemparan Medicine Ball untuk menilai daya ledak otot lengan, serta pengujian kemampuan smash. Data dianalisis dengan melakukan uji normalitas, uji korelasi Spearman, dan analisis regresi berganda melalui SPSS. Temuan dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan yang signifikan antara koordinasi mata dan tangan, kekuatan otot lengan, serta daya ledak otot lengan terhadap kemampuan smash. Secara keseluruhan, variabel ketiga ini berperan dalam meningkatkan kualitas smash para atlet bulutangkis. Oleh karena itu, untuk meningkatkan kemampuan smash, latihan sebaiknya difokuskan pada pengembangan koordinasi, kekuatan, dan daya ledak otot lengan.
