History

Diffraction: Journal for Physics Education and Applied Physics is a scholarly journal published by the Physics Education Study Program of Universitas Siliwangi in collaboration with the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) and the Institute for Research, Community Service, and Educational Development (LPPM-PMP) of Universitas Siliwangi. The journal was first published in June 2019.

Diffraction: Journal for Physics Education and Applied Physics obtained its online ISSN (2685-7723) on July 26, 2019.

The journal used Template Version 1 from issue 1(1) 2019 to 2(1) 2020. Starting from issue 2(2) 2020, the journal adopted Template Version 2, which introduced changes to the layout of the Abstract, Keywords, Article History, and Author Affiliation sections. In general, the overall structure and components of the article template remained consistent across both versions.

From issue 1(1) 2019 to 2(2) 2020, the journal published seven articles per issue. Beginning with issue 3(1) 2021, each issue contained five articles.

Following its accreditation as a SINTA 4 journal and to provide wider opportunities for disseminating high-quality research in physics and physics education, Diffraction has published six articles per issue (twelve articles per volume) since Volume 5 (2023).

Diffraction: Journal for Physics Education and Applied Physics achieved SINTA 3 accreditation status in 2025
