Abstract

The rapid development of information technology in education has underscored the necessity for innovative and adaptive learning media, especially in mathematics, where conceptual understanding is often hindered by conventional teaching methods. This research addresses the challenge of students’ difficulties in comprehending and applying the Pythagorean Theorem, as observed in SMP Negeri 1 Manonjaya, by developing an interactive web-based learning media using Adobe Animate. The study aims to describe the development process, assess the feasibility, and evaluate student responses to the media. Employing the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) model, the research involved systematic needs analysis, media design, iterative development with expert validation, and implementation through small group and field trials involving eighth-grade students. Data collection utilized interviews, expert validation questionnaires, and student response surveys, analyzed quantitatively using percentage techniques. The results demonstrate that the developed media, accessible via smartphones, is highly feasible with content and objective quality rated at 97% by subject matter experts and technical quality at 92% by media experts. Student responses in both trial phases indicate a “Very Good” category, with average percentages between 85% and 89%, highlighting increased motivation, comprehension, and engagement. The study concludes that interactive web-based learning media using Adobe Animate effectively enhances the learning experience and conceptual understanding of the Pythagorean Theorem, offering a replicable model for broader mathematics education innovation.
