Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement in students' mathematical representation skills and self-efficacy using the ROLEM learning model. The research method used in this study is a pre-experimental type of experimental method with a one-group pretest design, where students undergo a pretest in one sample class as a baseline, followed by a posttest with the same measurement after the treatment. The sample taken in this study is one class using the purposive sampling technique, consisting of 25 students from class VIII D. The students' mathematical representation ability on the verbal representation indicator increased significantly with an N-Gain result of 0.96, the symbolic representation indicator increased moderately with an N-Gain result of 0.54, and on the verbal indicator, it increased significantly with an N-gain result of 0.9. The results of the hypothesis test show a sig. 2-tailed value of 0.000, which means it is rejected, indicating that there is a difference in the average between the pretest and posttest scores of students' mathematical representation abilities. Showing that there is an improvement in students' representation skills using the ROLEM learning model.
