This study addresses the persistent issue of low creative thinking skills among junior high school students in mathematics, particularly in the topic of pyramids, due to the predominance of traditional teaching methods and limited integration of innovative learning models and technology. The research aims to examine the effect of implementing the Discovery Learning model assisted by Geogebra, a dynamic mathematics software, on students’ creative thinking abilities. Employing a quantitative approach with an experimental posttest-only control group design, the study involved two randomly selected seventh-grade classes at SMPN 19 Tasikmalaya: one as the experimental group receiving Discovery Learning with Geogebra, and the other as the control group using Discovery Learning without technological assistance. The instrument used was a validated and reliable essay test designed to measure creative thinking across three indicators: fluency, flexibility, and novelty. Data analysis included non-parametric statistical tests due to non-normal distribution of results. Findings indicate a significant positive impact of Discovery Learning assisted by Geogebra on students’ creative thinking skills, with the experimental group achieving substantially higher average scores and a greater proportion of students categorized as highly creative compared to the control group. Geogebra facilitated interactive visualization, independent exploration, and immediate feedback, contributing to improved conceptual understanding and creative problem-solving. Despite these advantages, a small number of students in the experimental group continued to face challenges, mainly related to digital literacy and limited experience with technological tools. The study highlights the importance of integrating technology-supported active learning models to foster creative thinking in mathematics and recommends continuous training and infrastructure support for optimal implementation.
