Author Guidelines

Authors who wish to submit manuscripts to GEOSEE (Geography Science Education Explored) are required to follow the guidelines below to ensure the quality, consistency, and integrity of the publication process.

1. General Requirements

  • Manuscripts submitted must be original, have not been previously published, and are not under review by another journal.
  • All manuscripts must be written in English or Indonesian using clear, concise, and academic language.
  • The manuscript should be prepared in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
  • The similarity index (checked using Turnitin or iThenticate) must be no more than 20%.
  • All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer-review process.

2. Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should contain the following components:

  • Title – concise, specific, and informative (maximum 15 words).
  • Author(s) Name and Affiliation – include the author’s full name, institutional affiliation, and email address (corresponding author must be identified).
  • Abstract – written in English and Indonesian containing 150–250 words that summarize the purpose, methods, results, and conclusions.
  • Keywords – 3–5 keywords separated by commas.
  • Introduction – outlines the background, research problems, objectives, and relevant literature.
  • Methods – describes research design, data collection, and analysis procedures clearly.
  • Results and Discussion – presents findings with interpretation supported by tables, figures, and relevant references.
  • Conclusion – summarizes key findings and their implications.
  • Acknowledgments – optional; used to recognize support from individuals or institutions.
  • References – formatted according to APA Style (7th Edition).

3. Manuscript Format

  • Paper size: A4 (21 x 29.7 cm)
  • Margins: Top 3 cm, Bottom 2 cm, Left 3 cm, Right 2 cm
  • Font: Aptos, 11 pt
  • Line spacing: 1
  • Paragraph alignment: Justified
  • Use headings and subheadings for clarity and logical organization.

4. Tables and Figures

  • Tables and figures must be numbered sequentially (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1).
  • Each table and figure must include a clear title and source (if applicable).
  • Figures must be in high resolution and readable when printed.

5. References

  • Use APA 7th Edition reference style.
  • Ensure that all references cited in the text appear in the reference list and vice versa.
  • Use reference management tools such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote for consistency.

6. Submission and Review Process

  • Manuscripts must be submitted through the online submission system available on the GEOSEE journal website.
  • The editorial team will conduct an initial screening before sending the manuscript for peer review.
  • Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts based on reviewer comments.
  • The final decision on publication rests with the Editor-in-Chief.

7. Publication Fee

  • Currently, there is no article processing charge (APC) or submission fee for authors.
  • If publication fees apply in the future, authors will be notified prior to acceptance.

8. Ethical Considerations

  • All research must comply with ethical standards and avoid any form of plagiarism or data falsification.
  • Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest and acknowledge sources of financial or institutional support.
